Submission Guidelines

The Here’s My Canada contest is now closed.

Video submissions must reflect on Canadian culture, history or identity. This is a chance for you to have fun and be creative as you celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, or to take a moment to reflect on darker chapters in our nation’s history.

Although we make reference to “Canadians” throughout our website, we encourage video submissions from anyone living in Canada, not just citizens!

Videos cannot be longer than 30 seconds.

We accept videos in any language. If your video is in a language other than French or English, you must provide a transcript of your video in either French or English by emailing it to

Videos with inappropriate content will be disqualified. For more information, review our policy on inappropriate content.

Prizes are awarded individually. Although you can collaborate to make your video, only the person submitting the finished video will be eligible to win a prize.

Check out our rubric to see how the judges will determine winners.

Read our Rules and Regulations.
